In this episode of the Buddhaland Podcast, host Stacy interviews Monica Laura Smith, a holistic educator with a rich background in astrology and sound meditation. Monica shares how her early travels shaped her spiritual path, and discusses psychological astrology’s roots in Jungian psychology as a tool for understanding personal patterns. She explores the transformative power of sound and vibration, the distinction between sound and music, and the importance of discernment in holistic practices. The conversation also touches on the Schumann frequency, collective consciousness, and integral philosophy, before closing with an introduction to Monica’s method, Vita 4.0, which aims to enhance awareness and interconnectedness in modern life.
Monica Laura Smith is an Italo–Afro-American holistic educator, born in Turin, who lives and works between Europe and Asia. Her work bridges artistic practice, embodied awareness, and philosophical inquiry, with Integral Philosophy as its core framework. She has studied astrology since 1992 and holds a diploma in Psychological Astrology from the Centre for Psychological Astrology in London. Since 2006, Integral Philosophy has shaped her research and teaching, informing an approach that integrates inner experience, embodiment, relationships, and systemic contexts.
She is the creator of Vita 4.0, an integral method for conscious evolution in times of complexity, and of Soundgate, a meditative listening practice guided by finely tuned tubular chimes. In 2013, she founded Hamsa Integral Academy, where she offers courses and transformative practices, primarily online and in Hong Kong.
